Out In The Middle of Nowhere

Image
Sometimes I like to drive out in the country, out on the open road. It's nice to not have a set timetable or any particular place to be.  The other night I was driving on Baseline Rd, which turns into Riego Rd, then highway 99. I've driven past a particular building a few times. I thought it was a bar. I believe it's a convenience store. Looks like a album cover.  Just another Phoenix Chestnut discovery, out in the middle of nowhere.

Open Farm Land

Image
I was at the local golf course hitting a bucket of balls and practice my putting. It was a warm day with a gentle breeze. It was very relaxing. I was only using a nice pitching wedge I bought at a thrift store and a lob wedge. Kid in the stall next to me was trying to hit his balls over the netting that separates the course from the driving range. Kinda irritated me at first, but then I remember I probably did the same thing as a young golfer.  It was getting close to dinner time. I walked to my car and noticed some open farm land next to the course. Back in the mid to late 1990's, plans for a championship course was to be built on the land. The championship course eventually got built in another part of town. I'm glad the farm land was left alone, untouched. It's a reminder I live in a agricultural area. I used to hate living around here. I wanted to live in the big city, like Los Angeles. Now I avoid LA, San Francisco and downtown Sacramento.  Don't make northern Cali...

The Road Is Open

There's a open road out there. Where do you want to go? I have a goal every year that I want to go somewhere new. Don't quite know where I want to go this year. I'll let you know when I find out.

Change Is In The Air

Image
It's been sunny and warm the last few days. Then it rained Saturday. It was chilly yesterday (Sunday). This morning there was so much of a chill in the air I put off my morning walk and bundled up in a sweatshirt. It's past 12 noon now and it's very hot. Spring has finally sprung, with summer coming shortly thereafter. Time for a change. Put the warm winter clothes away. The picture is from my walk last night. There was a slight chill in the air.
